4 Days Safari

Regarded as one of the greatest wildlife spectacles in the world, the Serengeti’s annual wildebeest migration is by far one of the most amazing safari experiences one should have the pleasure of experiencing at least once in their lifetime.

With the mega herds of wildebeest, zebra and antelope spending more than 80% of their time on the endless plains of the majestic Serengeti National Park, it’s no wonder this park is one of the most popular national parks in the world.

However, even when the migration has moved on to the Maasai Mara, Serengeti National Park still offers what some have considered the most scintillating wildlife safari experiences in Africa.

Our migration safaris provide you with the best chances of exploring this wildlife haven and witnessing the longest and largest overland migration in the world and one of the 7 Natural Wonders of Africa.

We recommend a minimum of 4 days to see the migration and our itineraries include visits to other national parks which provides for a more enriching experience.

The best time to experience the migration safari is from November to August with April & May being the optimum time.

Day 1 Tarangire National Park

You will be picked up at your hotel in Moshi/Arusha and will be driven to Tarangine National Park via Arusha. The drive will be approzimately 4-5 hours so sit back relax and get to know your Nafika Tours guide. Once arrived, you will spend 4-5 hours driving within the park, that is famous in having a big number of elephants and huge scattered baobab trees. Other mammals like giraffes, antelopes, lions and cheetahs can be seen here but it’s not a guarantee. Lunch is provided during the day, but a word of wisdom although the local vervet monkeys may look cute they are mischieveious especially when it comes to food, so hold on to yours tightly. At roughly 04:00 pm we will leave the park and drive to Haven Nature Safari Camp for your dinner and to spend your first night.

Day 4: Ngorongoro Crater

Another early morning start as you head to the Ngorongoro Crater – one of the new 7 Natural Wonders of Africa. Not only does the Ngorongoro Crater have some breathtaking scenery, it is also home to over 25,000 wild creatures; in particular you may be lucky to see the Big 5 here. Estimates suggest there are roughly 7,000 wildebeest, 4,000 zebras, 3,000 eland, 3,000 gazelles, 600 hyena, 200-300 elephants, over 60 lions, 30 rhinos, and many others in a small area, so I hope you camera is charged and ready to go. The crater itself is about 610m deep and 260 square kilometres giving us enough opportunities to try and catch sights on those favorite animals. After lunch, we you will be taken back to Moshi/Arusha or dropped off at the airports, but not before stopping at some local shops to grab some souvenirs to take back home with you.
