Both the Kilimanjaro climb, and the safari were extremely well organised and Nafika did everything possible to make it really special for us. From the moment Nafika picked us up from the airport to the moment we said farewell – we couldn’t fault them.
Choosing a locally owned company was really important to us. Elias, who owns and runs Nafika Tours, started as a porter and then a mountain guide on Kilimanjaro, before saving enough money to start his own business. From first contact with Elias, his communications were efficient, friendly and informative. We had a million questions and he answered them all, giving us total confidence in the trip and allowing us to be fully prepared. Elias briefed us in person at our hotel the evening before we started the trek and safari welcomed us back again when we returned. Saying Elias really cares for his customers is an understatement.
Our group of 6 did the 8-day Lemosho route, which gave up plenty of time to acclimate and successfully reach the summit! Elias was so helpful in coordinating the details for our trip – he responds very quickly (which had me wondering when does he sleep?!). No question was too big or small. Upon meeting Elias and the other guides, Johnson and Chaba, we knew that we were in good hands!
The briefing prior to the trip was very thorough and they checked all of our gear to make sure that we were prepared. I really enjoyed the singing and entertainment provided by the porters, and it was really great to spend some time with Priveh and Johnathan in the chef’s tent to learn more about their lives and families. Highly recommend renting the private toilet – maybe was the best money I have ever spent.
The food was very tasty, and the morning coffee/tea was heavenly. I miss Johnathan’s morning wake-up call every day. Overall, great experience and really happy with the service.
Fantastic experience with a very professional expedition company. I’ve done high altitude trek in Himalays for comparison, and other endurance stuff… My Kilimanjaro experience with Nafika tours exceeding my expectations and I would use them again in a heartbeat. No reason to look any further! It’s Kilimanjaro followed by 2 days safari (Tarangire National Park & Norongoro Crater).

Excellent guides. 2x/day health checks,guides fully prepared and trained to deal with any potential challenge on the mountain When compared against other companies during the 7day hike Lemosho, Nafika stood out for its deep domain expertise of the mountain and how to approach it to maximize chances of success.
Excellent logistics. Transfers to hotel, coordination of bags and gear etc. Importantly, this is a ‘real company’ eg collect from airport in their vehicle. Many agencies just farm the real work out to local providers.
We had a fantastic climb up Kilimanjaro with Nafika Tours a local agent. We also went on a four day safari, range by Nafika , after the climb.
On the climb up Kilimanjaro, the guides, the cook, and the porters were all amazing. We felt as though we were in good hands with the guides. They kept a close eye on everyone. They checked our vital signs including oxygen saturation each morning and evening.
A mess tent was put up every day. The food was Excellent. We were fed quite well. There was always a warm soup plus a robust, tasty main course.
I choose the 7 day Lemosho route due to having more time on the mountain and able to acclimate properly. They provided a medication list that they thought was helpful which included Diamox, Zofran, and Zithromax. Nafika Tours also provided a detailed packing list which I followed and it was extremely helpful.
