ABOUT MATERUNI WATER FALL
Materuni water fall is one of the impressive waterfalls found around Kilimanjaro national park, it is one of the tallest waterfalls measuring 70m to its basin. Materuni, is the home of the Chagga tribe and is still an authentic tribal village. On a clear day views of Kibo peak and Moshi town can be seen from this point.
The waterfall is located at Materuni village, home of the Chagga people, 37 km away from Moshi town. From the village it is 40 minutes hike towards the waterfall. The waterfall is at a height of 2500 m from the sea level.
Materuni water fall is the main attraction; however there are other attractions such as the explore the botanical gardens, observe the Chagga culture, and embrace the scenic view of the landscape, birds, and other animals such as colobus monkeys.
At Materuni water fall activities may include swimming, hiking, bird watching, photography and feasting on the traditional meals and brew.
The trip shall have an average of 7 hours from 9:00 hours to 16:00 hours.
