ABOUT MATERUNI WATERFALL

Materuni waterfall is one of the impressive waterfalls found around Kilimanjaro National Park, it is one of the tallest waterfalls measuring 70m to its basin. Materuni is the home of the Chagga tribe and is still an authentic tribal village. On a clear day, views of Kibo peak and Moshi town can be seen from this point.

LOCATION

The waterfall is located at Materuni village, home of the Chagga people, 37 km away from Moshi town. From the village it is 40 minutes hike towards the waterfall. The waterfall is at a height of 2500 m from the sea level.

ATTRACTIONS

Materuni waterfall is the main attraction; however, there are other attractions such as exploring the botanical gardens, observing the Chagga culture, and embracing the scenic view of the landscape, birds, and other animals such as colobus monkeys.

ACTIVITIES

At Materuni waterfall activities may include swimming, hiking, bird watching, photography, and feasting on the traditional meals and brew.
